Hello, I am Mateo
Project manager, parent, and expat based in Madrid, Spain.
A few years ago, I moved here with my family. What started as a temporary contract gradually became a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Started
Moving to Spain wasn’t in our long-range plan. Like many relocations for work, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far bigger.
The initial months were demanding — fresh systems, new routines, new expectations. Daily tasks seemed more tangled than expected.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and many lessons learned on the go. Yet gradually routines took shape. We found spots that suited us, connected with other families, and began crafting something that felt steady.
Why I Built Blue Bell Studio
Most online guidance leaned either toward corporate relocation tips or shallow travel material. What was lacking was a genuine, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to bridge that gap — practical advice drawn from real life in Spain.
What This Site Does (And Does Not)
This site is:
- Hands-on experience from living in Spain
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated whenever something truly changes
This site isn't:
- A tourism authority resource
- Sponsored review platform
- A generic travel blog
Looking Forward
Our time in Spain goes on, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll keep documenting what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in Madrid or anywhere in Spain, don't hesitate to get in touch.
Best regards,
Mateo
